Robert D. Leitch, Jr.

Ballston Lake- Robert D. Leitch, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully at his home on March 16, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Albany on February 25, 1934, Bob was the son of the late Robert D. and Marion Leitch, Sr. For 56 years, Bob was a proud Union Electrician, first working for Ryan Electric and later for the City of Albany. He was proud to be member of the Wadsworth Lodge No. 417, F. & A.M for over 48 years where he attained the level of 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Bob was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed taking his various antique cars to shows. His outgoing personality made it easy for him to make friends anywhere he went. He enjoyed spending time on his boat on Ballston Lake. Bob was a huge fan of boxing and the New York Yankees and could be found watching the stock car races at Albany-Saratoga Speedway on Friday nights. He was a proud father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother to his three older sisters.

Bob is survived by his children: Laura (Alan) Garrison, Lynn (Donald) Weaver, Leann (Joshua) Bond, Robert (Sheridawn) Leitch, III and John (Kimberly) Leitch; his eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his sisters: Dorothy Cook and Marion Fuchs; he is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister Elaine Levesque.

Bob's family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Saratoga County and Landmark Health for their loving and compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 11 am to 1:30 pm on Tuesday, March 20 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service, including a service by the Masons will be held at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob's name to The Community Hospice, Foundation and Central Offices, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
