LAKE GEORGE- Robert A. Long, age 56, passed away on October 29, 2018 at Albany Medical Center after complications from surgery.
He was born in Troy, NY, the son of the late Joseph D. Long and Patricia Arndt Long of Guilderland.
Rob was a hard worker. He worked in the construction trades for the past 26 years, working with H&D Builders Inc. of Latham, NY. He loved the guys he worked with.
He graduated from Notre-Dame Bishop Gibbons HS in Sch'dy and took college courses at HVCC and SCC. Rob was a devoted NY Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan. He also loved living on Lake George and spent many seasons boating and snowmobiling in the Adirondacks. He loved to cook and watch the cooking shows-especially Emeril Lagasse. In his younger years he spent many summers working at his uncle's restaurant on the Jersey Shore.
Besides his mother, Rob is survived by his identical twin brother Richard A. (Jill) Long of Queensbury, Joseph D. (Liane) Long Jr. of Albany and his sister Patricia A. (Vince) Talone of Guilderland. He is also survived by a niece Sarah Tracy (Long), four nephews: Daniel Long, Christopher, Michael and David Talone. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Rob's calling hours on Thursday, November 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Avenue, Albany, NY. A Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
