Robert D. Madison "The Bear", 81, husband of Carolyn Madison of Schenectady, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at St. Peter's Rehabilitation Center in Albany.
Born July 16, 1942, in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of the late George (LeRoy) Madison and Gladys Madison (Jones).
Bob graduated from Mohonasen High School, and was employed as a welder at General Electric for 38 years. Bob was a member of the Duanesburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he served as an elder for many years. Bob loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn of 61 years, his son Daniel and his wife Michele of Altamont, his daughter Annette of Rotterdam, and his son David of Rotterdam. He is also survived by his grandchildren Danielle Hofmann, and Elliot and Miranda Madison, and his great grandson Owen.
He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Braddy, and his beloved dog Mandy.
Friends may call Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 3:00PM.
