Robert J. Matan

Watervliet- Robert J. Matan, 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 with his family by his side. Robert is the son of Susan H. Matan and the father of Ashley Kachidurian and Michael and Anthony Matan.

Bob was a service tech for Pepsi Co. for 32 years and became known as "Pepsi Bob." Bob enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing golf, boating, darts and spending time with his family at Brant Lake, New York.

In addition to his mother and children, Bob is survived by his grandchildren, Josh "Joshua Tree" and Cooper. He is also survived by his brothers, Jay, James, David and William as well as his aunts, Margaret Wood, Nancy Reedy (Robert) and Janet Russett (Ronald) and many nieces, cousins and numerous friends he's made over the years.

Bob is predeceased by his sister Patricia.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 11:00am-2:00pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189. A memorial service will follow starting at 2:00pm. Bob will be interred with his grandmother on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11:15am at Albany Rural Cemetery. The family will process from the funeral home leaving at 11:00am.
