Troy - Robert P. McCarthy, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
He was the son of Joan A. Parker McCarthy and the late Robert L. McCarthy.
Robert was a graduate of Troy High School and then entered into the United States Navy. After serving in the military Robert went on to work for New York State for 25 years.
In addition to his mother, Robert is survived by his siblings Karen Bloomer (Michael) of Brunswick, Kathy Foy (Edward) of Bolton Landing, Joann Johnson of Troy and Daniel M. McCarthy of Cohoes. Robert is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Robert is predeceased by his brother Michael McCarthy of the Catskills.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 from 9:00 am -11:00 am at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY 12189. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 11:00am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery (Troy,NY).
