Robert F. McGinn, 91, of Colonie, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, at the Albany VA Hospital. Born on March 16th, 1932 in Richmond, Maine, he was the son of the late David F. McGinn and Olga Hussey.
Robert attended Richmond Middle School, and as soon as he was able, he served in the U.S. Air Force where he was a Fire Protection Specialist. After serving his country Robert was mainly employed as a bartender at various bars/restaurants in California and New York state. In his spare time Robert enjoyed traveling, reading and listening to music. Spending time with his children and grandchildren is what brought Robert the most joy.
He is survived by his two children Sean McGinn of Albany and Darlene Cherubin of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jordan Clark of Troy, NY, Gianna Clark of Rensselaer, NY and Kailey Cherubin of Ballston Spa, NY.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his three siblings Erma Tisdale, David E. McGinn and Gerald McGinn.
A graveside ceremony will be celebrated for family and friends on Tuesday, May 23rd at 11:00AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery and Memorial Park, 983 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Albany, NY 12205.
