Robert E. Miller

Robert E. Miller, 76, passed away peacefully at the Syracuse Veterans Hospital with his loving family by his side on April 29, 2022.

Bob was the son of the late Robert and Clare (Hiermeier) Miller.

He was the devoted husband to Linda (Hastings) Miller.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper with the 101st Airborne Division.

Bob was the owner and operator of Uncle Sams Boxing Club and committed all of his life to advancing the sport. He influenced many to make choices that led to a better life. Bob was also employed at Shaker High School where he retired after 25 years.

Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and was a devoted father. He was an avid sports fan who loved the Jets and Mets. He enjoyed hunting and loved the peacefulness of country living. Bob had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing whether it was at your expense or his own. Among his many recognitions, he was inducted into the NYS Boxing Hall of Fame.

Bob is survived by his wife Linda, who never left his side, his children - Lucy Miller and fiancé Kevin Beaulieu, Shannon and Heather Miller, Melissa and Glenn Satterday, Kelly Miller and fiancé Damon Brady, Shelly and Josh Hansen, Shawn Miller and Christine Bailey, Melissa Tanzer, David and Joy Filarecki, his previous wives, Lorraine Miller and Anna Watson, 17 grandchildren, his siblings Delores, Marlou, Jimmy, Joyce, Jean Ann, Esther, Carol, Robert and his most loyal companion, his dog Lily. Bob is predeceased by his infant daughter Kimberly and his siblings Ronald, Patricia, Raymond, David, Herbert, and Kenneth.

Calling hours will be held on 5/7 at New Comer Cremations and Funerals on 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY from 11am -3pm. Service at 3pm. Burial will be private for the family.
