GUILDERLAND – Robert (Bob) O. Maud, 82, died after a brief illness on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 with his family by his side.
Bob was born on September 18, 1933 in Syracuse, NY to the late Orman Henry and Stella Mae (Hickey) Maud. He graduated from Philip Schuyler High in 1951 and from RPI as an electrical engineer in 1955. He was ROTC and proudly served in the Army Military Police upon graduation. Bob spent over forty years of his life as a heating/air conditioning air filter salesman with Cambridge, Carrier, and Fedder. He was a member of the Syracuse Masonic Lodge for sixty years. Bob was a resident of Voorheesville for 35 years before moving to Guilderland and most recently to CT to live with his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
Bob was predeceased by his loving wife of 46 years, Joan D. (Carmello) Maud. He is survived by his children, Susan (Norman) Chambers, Christine (Stephen) Radau, David Maud and partner Robert Frazier, and Dana (Ted) Maranos; his grandchildren, Alex, Ashley, Stella, and Olivia; and his grandpuppies, Mario, Caramel, and Pallas. Bob is also survived by his wife's siblings: Elaine Scaccia, Jeanette (James) Demarco, Joseph (Carol) Carmello, William (Judy) Carmello, and Ronald (Joan) Carmello and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother and sister in-laws, John Scaccia, John and Nancy Carmello, Dolores Murphy, and Thomas Carmello.
Calling hours (including a memorial service) will be on Saturday, March 5, from 2:00 – 5:00pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to the charity of your choice.
