Robert A. Oravsky Sr.

Westerlo- Robert A. Oravsky Sr., 80, passed away with his loving family by his side on November 26,2023. Robert was born December 7,1942 to the late Anthony and Evelyn (Quick) Oravsky in Westerlo NY.

Robert was educated in the Guilderland Central School district. After graduating from high school, Robert enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. During his time in the service, he learned the trade of welding. After his honorable discharge from the Army. Robert worked for the next 36 years, as a welder and foreman at Altech Specialty Steel. Upon his retirement from the steel industry, Robert drove a school bus for special needs children for another 10 years.

During his childhood he earned the rank of Eagle Scout and learned a love of the outdoors which he passed on to his children and grandchildren. Fishing, hunting, camping and scouting were just some of the activities that they enjoyed together. Spending time with family was always a priority. He was also known for being a "Jokester" he loved to make people laugh and was a gracious host. "BobO" wine was known far and wide, along with his secret homemade, mustard, sauerkraut, horseradish, pickles and a plethora of sweets and treats. Robert enjoyed travel with his beloved wife, Sandra, and together they travelled to many places such as Mexico, Dominican Republic, The Western United States, but his favorite place was Aruba.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Sandra Oravsky. Sons are Robert A. (Dara) Oravsky Jr., Michael W. (Dawn "Loretta") Oravsky. Grandchildren, Robert A. Oravsky III, Matthew P. Oravsky, Alexander J. Oravsky "AJ". Siblings, Dorthea (Nixon), Kenneth Oravsky, Joseph (Bonnie) Oravsky. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
