SCHENECTADY – Robert R. Van Vlack, 57, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 24, 2008. He was born in Schenectady and was the son of the late Robert and Jane Frame Van Vlack and brother of the late Arthur Van Vlack
Bob had served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He was a customer service representative for several hardware stores in Schenectady. Bob had worked with many local contractors at Bellevue Builders and currently at Woodlawn True Value. He also worked at Boscia Liquor Store. In Bob's younger days, he was very involved as a wrestling and baseball coach. He loved the great outdoors. Bob was very skilled as a carpenter. He was a wonderful person and friend to all. Bob was the very first one to lend a hand when needed. Bob will always be loved and missed by all of those whom he touched. We will remember him as the best of the best. Til we meet again, well done my friend…..well done.
He is the beloved companion of Nancy C. Hartin. Father of Dennis Van Vlack amd Jennifer Van Vlack. Brother of Charles Van Vlack. He will be forever missed by his devoted feline friend, Sweet Pea.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd.
