Albany- Robert William Richardson, 67, of Albany, NY, went to be with our Lord on May 23, 2018. Bob was born in Riverside, NJ. He was the son of the late Paul Joseph and Sarah Sue Montgomery Richardson and predeceased by his brother, Paul John Richardson.
Bob is survived by his son, Jeremiah Richardson and wife, Jennifer of Clifton Park, NY; his sister, Sara Sue and husband, Carl Armstrong of Myrtle Beach, SC; former spouse and forever friend, Dr. Linda Richardson and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob grew up in Riverside, NJ and graduated from Riverside High School. He attended Montana St. in Bozeman and then graduated from the University of Arkansas in Little Rock with a major in English.
He worked in the newspaper industry on the Bozeman Chronicle in Montana, the Arkansas Gazette in Little Rock, AR and the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway, AR.
Bob returned to college and earned his teaching certificate in Special Education. He taught middle school in Windham, ME and high school in Cumberland Co, ME, Special Education at BOCES, Wynantskill, NY and Carolina Forest Middle School in Horry CO, SC.
Bob had a remarkable understanding of children with special needs and encouraged them to learn their full potential.
Bob had a life long fondness and talent for flower and vegetable gardening, plus a kindred spirit with any cat or dog. Bob loved to cook with family. He loved talking baseball and was a die hard fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. All of his life he was an avid NASCAR watcher and the best listener. He could always be found playing cards or doing crossword puzzles.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
