Clifton Park - Robert "Bob" Silberstein, 70, passed away peacefully on December 16, with his wife and children by his side.
Bob was born in Illinois but grew up in Great Neck and Larchmont, NY. He graduated from Mamaroneck High school in 1970 and later attended Kansas City Art Institute where he developed a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
As a young man, Bob relocated to South Florida where he met his wife and started his family. He was a doting husband to Lorann and a devoted father to Tyler and Katie.
Bob worked as a graphic artist for several publications before moving to upstate NY in 1993. He was employed by Currier McCabe Associates and NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation until retiring in 2010.
During retirement, Bob enjoyed volunteering at the Regional Food Bank and spending time with family and friends. He truly appreciated the simple pleasures in life and the beauty of nature. Bob loved all kinds of music, from classical to rock and jazz.
Bob also leaves behind his mother, Enid "Chick" Wachtel, sister, Terri and brother, Thomas. His gentle, kind spirit will be dearly missed and always remembered.
A private service for family only will be held at this time. To honor Bob's memory, friends may wish to consider a donation to the Regional Food Bank of Latham, NY.
