Albany – Robert Tucker, 68, died Thursday July 10, 2008 after a long and valiant battle with Leukemia.
Born in Albany, NY on March 20, 1940, son to the late Leon and Fannie Tucker. Robert graduated from Albany High School in 1960, was drafted into the US Army in 1963 and served in Germany as a Medic. He retired from Knolls Atomic Power Lab in 1996 after more than 30 years working as a computer operator.
He was the husband of Betty Tucker of Troy, NY, the loving father of Susan Tucker of Troy, NY, Stephanie Cummings of Burtonsville, MD and Tramaine Turner of Enterprise, AL. He was stepfather to Felicia Hayes of Boston, MA and Thomas Hayes of Troy, NY, loving brother to Joyce (Leslie) McIntosh, Richard "Dicky" Tucker and Russell Tucker all of Albany, NY. He was predeceased by his sister Beatrice Jenkins and brothers Edward and David. He also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank the Stratton VA Medical Center 8th floor staff and especially Melissa, Shaerri and Vanessa for the wonderful care they took with Bobby.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 12 noon at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 am to 12 noon at the funeral home. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery immediately following the service.
