Growing up in Albany, Robert was also known as Ra, Roz, Bob, and Pops as well as several other nicknames. As an adult, Robert shared his fond childhood memories with family and friends. He worked construction for most of his life and would do jobs ranging from electrical to foundation work. Upon retirement from construction Robert enjoyed working (and playing) at Briar Creek Golf Course. He made lots of lifelong friends throughout his years and loved every one of them as family.
Robert enjoyed fishing, camping, golfing, spending time with family, friends and The Green Bay Packers. Socially, he was a lifetime member of the Eagles FOE 3610 Rotterdam where he was trustee for a number of years. He loved volunteering to be Santa for their annual children's Christmas party. Robert also enjoyed playing rounds of golf at Briar Creek with his buddies on Sunday, where he hit a hole in one!
His greatest and biggest joy was watching his grandchildren grow-up around him. He had special and unique relationships with each of his grandchildren and they all shared immense love from their Poppy. He was present for all activities and sporting events and enjoyed supporting his grandkids in their passions. He passed his love of the Green Bay Packers to not only his children, but grandchildren as well.
Robert gave his love and time generously to his friends and family. He was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed very much.
A "Celebration of Life & Memorial Service" is in the works and will be announced privately.
