Loudonville- Robert W. Stiffen Sr., 72, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, September 26, 2014.
Robert was born in Albany, NY to the late Edward and Elizabeth Stiffen. He served in the United States Army from 1959- 62.
Robert is predeceased by his siblings; Jack (Francis), Edward 'Bud' (Agnes), Jim (Annie), and Joan (Carl) Strohmaier.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary of 53 years, his children; Robert (Kelly) Stiffen, Nancy (Ramsis Berghela) Stiffen- Olekoski, and James Stiffen, his grandchildren; David, Nicholas, Bethy, Zachary, Rachel, and Adam, his siblings; Frank 'Demps', Bill, Joe, Tom, Betty, and Marylee, and all his friends at the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department.
Robert was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. His grand children were the light of his life, and he will also be remembered for his service to the Shaker Road Loudonville Fire Department. He was a lifetime member, serving over 35 years. He held many positions working his way to Chief, Chairman of the Board, and as current President. He retired from the Teamsters Local 294 with over 40 years of service.
Calling hours will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, on Wednesday, October 1st, 2014, at 4:00pm-8:00pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, on Thursday, October 2nd at 11:00am.
