Robert Wieszies, 83, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on Jan 06, 1930 in Schenectady, NY to the late Ewald and Maria Wieszies. Bob graduated from Scotia Glenville High School and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Roland J. Down Co. in 1995.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Marion Wieszies. He is the cherished father of Sharon (Neil) Pedersen, Susan (Wayne) Smith and Diane (Carl) Lupi. He is the adored grandfather of two grandsons and the proud great grandfather of two great granddaughters.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protective Foundation of Schenectady at 53 Maple Ave., Scotia, NY 12302 in Bob's memory.
The family would like to thank all the nurses, doctors and staff at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam for all their wonderful care that Bob received.
Funeral service for Bob will be Thursday at 10:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in the Ballston Spa Village Cemetery.
