Robert W Zink Sr. (68) who was born on August 8, 1952, passed away early Sunday morning, October 11, 2020, peacefully surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Niskayuna, NY where he grew up and attended Mount Pleasant High School. Robert was an avid track athlete who still holds records for running at the school to this day. He graduated high school in 1970 where he went on to work for PNC markets. He later moved on to be a Sales Marketing Representative for Greenhouse Food Distributors which later turned into KEHE Distributors. He worked and retired for the company after 38 years of service.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman who greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, and a good campfire. He also enjoyed doing activities with his children such as being a baseball coach, and a Cub Scout and Boy Scout leader.
He is survived by his loving wife Deborah Zink, who celebrated 43 years of marriage in June. His children Robert W Zink Jr. (Laura), Laurie Rothenberger (Christopher), Matthew Zink (Susan), Thomas Zink (Rachel), and his grandchildren Jospehine, Anthony, Sophia, Sadie, Brody, Sabrina and Grayson.
He is also survived by his mother Elaine Zink, sister Karen Jarosz, and brother Lawrence and Chester Zink.
His family will be celebrating his life in a private gathering. The family asks that any donations in Robert's name be donated to NYOH Community Cancer Foundation. The Zink Family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff at NYOH for taking such great care for Robert.
