ALBANY- Rocco Masercola aka Mark Anthony, passed away on December 30, 2023.
He was born in Utica, NY, the son of the late Anthony and Josephine Masercola.
Rocco went to Proctor High School and Berklee School of Music. He traveled around the United States as a drummer and vocalist. He worked at Macy's, Colonie Center where he met his wife Wendy Swanson.
He was President of the Schenectady Musician's Union for many years. He loved Jazz, the Yankees and spending time with his grandchildren.
Rocco was predeceased by his brother, Anthony Masercola Jr. and daughter, Toni Masercola Lyng.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children: Tina Masercola Hayes, Nicholas Masercola and Jennifer Masercola; grandchildren: Darrell and Justin Spraragen, Catherine and Heather Hayes, Ethan Lyng, Lydia Ostrander and Fiona and Nora Masercola.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday January 7, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service following at 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rocco's memory may be made to the Musician's Foundation, 875 Sixth Avenue, NY, NY 10001.
