GUILDERLAND- Rocco M. Padula, age 92, passed away peacefully at Kingsway Arms on July 21, 2021.
He was born in Albany, the son of the late Maurice and Dorothy Padula. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Angela Padula in 2018; daughter, Linda Papale; two brothers: Anthony and Maurice Padula; and sister in law, Josephine Padula.
After graduating high school, Rocco enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1950-1956.
He retired from General Electric as a Machinist.
Rocco enjoyed gardening, snowbirding with Angela to Florida, watching his beloved New York Yankees and spending time with family and friends.
He was an active member of the Westmere Fire Department and an usher at Christ the King Church.
Rocco is survived by his daughters: MaryAnn (Bob) Ferraro and Susan (Thomas) Brown; son in law, Andrew Papale; grandchildren: Michael Ferraro, Christina (Frank) Cimmino and Jennifer Brown; brother, Richard (Angelina) Padula; and sister in law, Audrey Padula. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Community Hospice and the Kingsway community for the support and care given to Rocco.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205. All are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Church, 20 Sumter Ave., Albany, NY 12203. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
