Rodney M. Foster II, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at his home. Rodney was born in Albany to Audrey J. Foster (Zorn) and the late Rodney M. Foster. He graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School in 1966 and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War in Korea. Rodney retired from the Albany Police Force in 1998 after 28.5 years of service. He was one of few three wheeled motorcycle officers and later finished off his career in the Pinebush Police Station. He continued his life of service through working as a Federal Guard for the city of Albany until he fully retired. Rodney loved his Harley's and riding, he enjoyed his time in the thousand islands and hunting. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 36 years Lynne M. Cunningham.
In addition to his mother, Rodney is survived by his daughters Deborah (Daniel) Knoll and Melissa Foster. He is the proud grandfather of his two grandsons Ryan and Justin Knoll. He was also survived by his companion and partner in life Alice Kiernozek and several nieces, nephews, cousins and close family members.
Rodney was a friend of Bill W. and through so was an inspiration and confidant to many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral services on Monday at 11 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
