Roger F. King

Roger Francis King, 71, passed away on February 7, 2014 in Bay Front Medical Center, Florida after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on November 20, 1942 to Eva (Burke) King and the late Francis King.

Roger loved life to it fullest. He loved the outdoors from snowmobiling, boating ,fishing, but most of all traveling in our RV exploring new places. He fell in love with Gulf View RV Resort in Florida and made it his home with his wife, Sharon. Where they acquired a new loving extended family. He was so loved by all, but above all he loved his family and friends and cherished all the great memories .

Roger is survived by his loving and caring wife, Sharon King, he is the father of, Theodore "Buddy" King, Gregory King and his wife, Leah, Robert King, Cathy King-Heffernan, and her husband Paul, and Linda King Franco and her husband Frank. Roger is the cherished grandfather of, Giavonni King, Krossaphino King, Haele King, Kaylee King, Amanda Heffernan, Pauli Heffernan, Robert Heffernan, Noah Heffernan, Cara Franco, Michelene Franco and the adored great granddaughter of Madeline Franco.

He is also survived by a large loving family, Frank and Helen Ryan, Mary and Jim Murphy, Joan and Chuck Haynes, John Rootes, and sister-in law Diane King, along with many nieces and nephews. He considered many close friends as his extended family and loved them very much.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Graceland Cemetery.
