ALBANY- Rolonzo "Big Lonzo" "Zo" J. Maye, passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2022.
He was born in Albany, the son of the late Roland and Norma Jean Maye. He was also predeceased by his brother, Roland Maye III.
Rolonzo was a humble, quiet, patient and very family oriented man. He would always put the needs of others before himself. He was always a hard worker and a very talented Jack of All Trades. He was protective of his family and was a great father. He was effortlessly funny and was a realist.
He loved to read and stay on top of current events. He was an enlightened thinker. When it came to sports, he loved his San Francisco 49er's. He started his own clothing business. In his down time he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his dog Matusse.
Big Lonzo is survived by his wife Renee Rochelle; his son Lonzo (Little Lonzo) Maye, his daughter Ziah Norma Jean Maye; brother, Irron Williams; his sisters: Tamica Carr (Thilden), Lola Maye, Takea Miller. God sister Cashay Artis. Best friend Mitchell Moore. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Monday May 2, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, New York 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral services following at 12 Noon at the funeral home.
