NISKAYUNA - Ronald Edmonson passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Born in New York City to Bernice Turpin-Edmonson and the late Robert C. Edmonson. Father to Justin C. Edmonson and Rachel Q. Edmonson of Altamont, NY. Grandfather to Tatiana C. Edmonson, and great-grandfather to Lyric-Aaliyah M. Kent of Rotterdam, NY. Brother to Debra Robinson, NY, NY.

Mr. Edmonson was an Air Force Veteran, and graduate of Hudson Valley, Union and RPI Colleges.

In addition, Mr. Edmonson was a Free Mason and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason in Allied Lodge No. 1170 New York City. He affiliated with Corlear Lodge in Schenectady and served as its Master. After Corlear merged into Schenectady 1174, he affiliated with St. George's No. 6 also of Schenectady and served as its Treasurer and ritual mentor. He was also active in Sigma Bodies, Valley of Schenectady, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and served as Thrice Potent Master. His last position held was Chancellor. In addition he was the degree director for the 15th, 16th, and 31st degrees and was active in the casts, taking on a number of major parts. In 2011 he was coroneted a 33rd degree Mason. He also participated in the Valley's regular Pick up/ Delivery for the Sicum Regional Food Bank held in cooperation with Price-Chopper Food Markets.

Mr. Edmonson belonged to St. George's Chapter, Royal Arch Masons, St. George's Council, Cryptic Masons, St. George's Commandery, Knights Templar where he served as Commander, Beukendaal – George Hope Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Cyprus Shrine AAONMS and the Old Seventeenth Past Masters Association. A memorial service will he held on Monday, July 7 at 1 pm at St. George`s Episcopal Church, 30 North Ferry Street, Schenectady.
