East Greenbush- Ronald A. Desrosiers, 82, passed away peacefully with his family by his side after a long illness, on June 8, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Cohoes, NY on December 8, 1934, Ronald was the son of the late Henry and Alice (Galipeau) Desrosiers. Ronald served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Air Force for 21 years, with service in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. After his retirement from the service, Ronald worked for New York State as a Construction Inspector for OGS. He was married to the love of his life, Carol (Wark) for over 36 years. Together they enjoyed camping, boating and fishing. She predeceased him in 2012. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Ronald is survived by his children: David Desrosiers of Valley Falls, James (Karyl-Lynn)Desrosiers of Hoosick Falls and Alana (Jesus) Guerra of Ballston Lake; his step children: Eugene Rysedorph, Shelley Bryce, Jennifer Chiera, Lori Jensen, Jason Moquin and Damon Moquin; his 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his beloved dog Grady.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Ronald was predeceased by his brother Norbert Desrosiers; his sons: Andrew and Ronald Desrosiers; his grandsons, Dalen and Aaron Desrosiers and his great-grandsons, Ezekiel and Jonas Desrosiers.
Ronald's family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Fabian and the ICU staff at Albany Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, June 13 at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 am on Wednesday, June 14 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 122 Vliet Blvd, Cohoes, NY 12047. Burial will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ronald's name to Community Hospice, Gift Processing Center, 310 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
