SCHENECTADY - Ronald H. Guynup, Sr., 78, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2015 at his home after a brief illness. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on May 18, 1937 in Rensselaer, NY and was the son of the late Myles C. and Florence I. (Houser) Guynup. He owned and operated Ron's Garage in Schenectady for several years and prior to that he was an auto technician with Adam's Chevrolet East Greenbush. He enjoyed trips to Racino, betting horses, but most especially spending time with his family.
Ron was the beloved husband of 51 years to the late Bernice Heim Guynup, she passed away on February 2, 2010. He is the loving father of Kenny Guynup, Dawn (James) Reinke, Pam (Wayne) Pinkerton, Joanne (Joe) Mazoway; and his daughter-in-law, Monica Guynup. He is the loving grandfather "Baha", to Rosemary, Justin (Nikki), Jason and Leeanne. He is also survived by several great grandchildren; his siblings, Robert (Rita) Guynup, Bruce (Marilyn) Guynup, Betty Jean Pelton, and Steve Guynup.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ron was predeceased by his son, Ronald H. Guynup, Jr. and his siblings, Doris Libertucci and Beverly Binnse.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Community Hospice of Albany for their love and support through this difficult time.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
