COLONIE – Ronald J. Brown, 77, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn after a long illness. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Edith (Thierbacker) Brown.
Ron was a graduate of St. Patrick's School in Watervliet and the LaSalle Institute in 1954. He retired from Albany County Social Services as an auditor after 28 years of service. Ron was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy and served on the Parish Council. Ron was also a Eucharistic minister who enjoyed the practice of healing through prayer.
Along with his parents, Ron was predeceased by his son, Brian Brown, and brother Thomas Brown.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Mary Louise (Smith) Brown; children Debbie (David) Koopersmith of Mesa, AZ, Kim Brown of Adirondack, NY, Gary (Laurie) Brown of Erie, PA, Kevin (Victoria) Brown of Palm Bay, FL, John (Michele) Brown of Harrisburg, PA, Dennis (Monica) Brown of Colonie, Sean (Sara) Brown of Rochester, Michael and Matthew Brown of Colonie; brother Danny (Jean) Brown of Georgia; sister Lorraine (the late Don) Rogers of Rensselaer, and many grandchildren and nieces.

Ron will be remembered most for his courage, great sense of humor, and faith in God throughout his illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Inn Dwelling, 109 E.
