Ronald Laning

NEW CASTLE, DE – Ronald L. "Scud" Laning, 63, a native of Colonie, NY and beloved father, brother and friend, died suddenly on Tuesday morning, September 11, 2007 at his home in New Castle, DE. Ron was the son of the late Kathryn and Raymond Laning, Sr. He was a graduate of Colonie Central High School and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a quality control manager for United Brands. Ron relocated to Delaware with the company and retired in 2006. An avid athlete and sportsman, Ron loved bowling, softball and golf. He cherished every day and valued the loyalty and commitment of his family and very dear friends; Ron most especially was there to help anyone in need. Ron is survived by many relatives and friends including his brothers, Robert Laning of Colonie, Raymond (Frieda) Laning, Jr. of Webster, NY, his two daughters, his son and one beautiful granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10:00 to 1:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be announced at a later date to be held in Memory's Garden.
