GOODBYE, TOO SOON - HIS LOVE LIVES ON!
A Celebration of the Life of Ronald Rudley Sebastian Permaul
The world lost a bright, shinning star when Ronald Rudley Sebastian Permaul entered into eternal life, peacefully, on Friday, July 7, 2017. He was surrounded by his loving family. Bobby, as he was affectionately known, was born in Georgetown, Guyana, South America on June 21, 1938 to the late Isaac and Doris Permaul.
Bobby met Pauline Kippins in July 1952 and she became Pauline Permaul on October 21, 1962, the love of his life and best friend for over sixty years. The Union produced seven children.
Bobby completed his education in Guyana, South America and began his career as a tailor, mastering the art in his field. He moved on to becoming a Seaman and rose to the position of Trawler Captain.
On August 4, 1978 Bobby and his family relocated to the United States and settled in Albany, New York. After working several jobs, Bobby attended Hudson Valley Community College where he earned his Certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology. After receiving his Certification, Bobby was employed by the State University of New York (SUNY) where he worked for twenty-five years as a Pool Engineer. He was a dedicated, caring and devoted employee who worked tirelessly to ensure that SUNY's pool system always remained in compliance with federal and state regulations. While working at SUNY, Bobby's dream of entrepreneurship materialized when he opened and operated his own retail establishment for four years.
Bobby was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend. He played an integral role in the lives of many! To him family was larger than life itself, meaning more to him than anything. Bobby was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important - the simplicity of living life with those you love - and he loved Everyone! Whether he invited you on one of his many fishing excursions or simply shared some of his catch, or whether he was fixing your car, your lawn mower, or your bicycle, he never refused a request to help and always did it with a smile …. never accepting any payment nor anything in return! He was admired by so many!
Bobby was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Patrick and Cecil, his sister Rebecca and his daughter Simone.
Left to cherish his memory and legacy are so many, his loving wife Pauline, his children: Roy (Andrea); Ronald (Urchell); Lloyd (Monique); Loretta (El-Wise); Anesticia, and John; his sisters: Shirley, Jean, Janet and Noreen; his brothers Hilton and Desmond; sisters-in-law Carmen, Joyce, Claudette, Marylin and Debra; brothers-in-law Ovid, Mervyn, Errol and Albert; fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Ronald (Bobby) Rudley Sabastian Permaul will be sorely missed, gone, but never to be forgotten. His memory will live on forever in the hearts of all that knew and loved him. We will miss him because he is not here to care for us, he is not here to teach us, he is not here to be outdoors with us, he is not here to argue with us, he is not here to share a drink with us, he is not here to share a dance with us, he is not here to laugh with us - we will miss him simply because he is not here!
And, as we bid a final farewell to the Best of the Best - Bobby, We love you and may you forever rest in peace!
