Colonie -Smith Ronald L., said "Toodeloo" on September 16, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born on June 2, 1945, in Albany, NY where he was born to the late Woollard and Lillian Smith.
Ronald L. Smith was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Ronald went to Schuyler high school in Albany where he excelled at sports. He passed his love of sports on to his sons and grandchildren. Ronald loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved his family. He also loved his yearly drive to Cape Cod with his family and would always proudly exclaim "Well I got you here again!" when he would arrive. Up until the time his legs wouldn't allow him to anymore, he loved bowling. Ronald had a great and goofy sense humor and was well liked by everyone. He was a tough guy with a big heart and will be deeply missed by those that loved him.
Ronald L. Smith. is survived by Rosalie, his loving wife of 47 years, his sons, Ronald and Robert (Katie) Smith; daughter-in-law Bonnie Smith; brothers Robert Smith, Woollard (Shiela) Smith and Otis Smith; Grandchildren, Dominic, Jacob, Abigail and Casey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, parents Woollard and Lillian Smith; brother Charles Smith and sisters June Moss and Virginia Smith.
Calling hours will be held Thursday September 21 ,2023 4-7pm held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Road Colonie, NY 12205. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on, Friday September 22 ,2023 held at St. Pius X Church 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211.
