Ronald T. Evans, Sr.

AMSTERDAM, NY – Ronald T. Evans, Sr., 66, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a long illness. Born in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late William and Theresa (Frederick) Evans. Ron was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He worked for the former BASF in Rensselaer from where he retired. Ron was an avid reader and especially enjoyed woodworking. He was a proud member of Gilda's Club. Ron is the father of Ronald Evans, Jr. He is the beloved companion of Lori Johnson and her sons, Christopher and Matthew Johnson. He is the cherished brother of Donna (Bart) Burger, Betty (Don) Campoli, Robert Evans, Joseph Evans, Patricia (King) McLaughlin and the late Theresa Lasher, Jane O'Neil and Bill Evans. He is the brother-in-law of Marie Evans. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gilda's Club, One Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12210 or St. Stephen's Church, 46 N. Pawling Street, Hagaman, NY 12086 in memory of Ronald T. Evans, Sr.
