Ronald P. Toma, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side.
Ron was the son of the late Anthony and Dorothy Toma.
He was the devoted husband of 50 years, to Dawn M. (Frament) Toma. He graduated from Cohoes High School in 1966.
Ron proudly served with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal along with many other awards. He worked for NYS Department of OGS, retiring as an Associate Superintendent of Construction.
Ron loved to make his family and friends laugh. He enjoyed telling a good joke whenever possible and was known for his integrity and he loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to Disney.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother John Toma.
Ron is survived by his wife Dawn, his children, Tina (Sean Garrow) Peak-Sala and Tony (Darya) Toma. He was the proud grandfather of Jillian Sala, Christopher Flowers, Katelyn (Gabe) Sessoms, Justin Sala,Triton Toma, Sean (Lisa and their children Ryli, Ryan and Ryese) Garrow, Amber (Derek and her son Atticus); his great granddaughter Hazel. His siblings Nancy (Dave) Radliff, Danny (Vincent Colavito) Toma, Joseph (Kathy) Toma and Judy (Marty) Safford and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
The family would like to thank the entire staff with Saratoga County Hospice for all of their care given to Ron.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, NY on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, at 2:30 pm.
