Saratoga Springs- Ronald T. Tripp, 70, passed away at Saratoga Hospital on Monday, March 24, 2025, after a short battle with metastatic renal cancer, with his loving family and friends by his side. Ron was the son of the late Thomas and Anne Tripp. He was the devoted husband to Deborah Tripp for 40 years.
Ron is survived by his wife, Debbie; brother, Thomas; son, Jason (Chrissy) Drobnack; daughter, Nicole (Ron) Ronk; father-in-law, Melvin Weaver, Sr., and brother-in-law, Robert (Pam) Weaver, and beloved grandchildren, Perrin Jones, Serena Drobnack, and Tallan Ronk. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Ron is predeceased by his sister, Bonnie Tripp; brother-in-law, Melvin Weaver, Jr., and mother-in-law, Luella Weaver.
Ron graduated from Shaker High School, class of 1972, and attended Maria and Siena Colleges. He previously owned a delivery service, White Lightning, and was retired from the N.Y.S. Dept. of Labor after 20 years of service.
Ron aspired to the Buddhist philosophy and as such was kind, calm, gentle, peace-loving, and greeted everyone with a loving smile. As a musician, he enjoyed attending music concerts with family and friends; traveling, camping, boating, reading, get-together's with friends and family, animals, especially his adoring two cats, Sierra and Nevada; and most of all events his children and grandchildren were involved in throughout their lives.
A special thanks goes to his childhood friends, Gerard Sullivan, Mark Von Stetina, and Dennis Ludlum, who were by his side during his illness and journey from life to death. Heartfelt recognition to his good friend, Ed Esposito, for his guitar playing and singing as Ron transitioned to the afterlife.
