Ronald W. Preston, 71, passed away Saturday May 2, 2009 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born in Worcester, NY the son of the late Raymond and Agnes Preston. He was a veteran of the US Army and worked as an Operating Engineer for thirty years with the Local # 106 out of Albany. Ron was a "Mr. Fix-it" who loved tinkering and was a real perfectionist. He also enjoyed playing pool and his bulldogs but he was first and foremost a family man.
He is survived by his wife Dolores, his children: Donna (Mark) Jenkins, Michael (Tina) Preston, Mark (Bridget) DeBacco, Michelle (Tim) Nelson and Georgette (Patsy) Franze, son-in-law Vincent Drapala, 14 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, sister Charlotte Flagg and niece Brenda. Ron was predeceased by his daughter Candace Drapala.
The funeral service will be held 11:00am at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Wednesday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
