SCHENECTADY – Ronald W. Salsburg, Sr., 46, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Niskayuna, he is the son of the Howard and June McNichol Salsburg.
Ronald was a mechanic for over 18 years. He owned and operated Sparky's Auto Repair Center in Troy for 2 years before he retired last year. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family.
Ronald was an organ donor, his eyes went to someone so they could see and the veins in his legs went to someone who could have a heart bypass.
In addition to his parents, Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Catherine "Cate" M. Salsburg; his children, Ronald W. Salsburg, Jr., Joshua A. Salsburg and Christina M. Salsburg; his granddaughter, Alexa Marie Salsburg; his sisters, Burnadette (Mark) Bates and Charlene (Joe) Sarchioto; his brothers, Robert (Brenda) Salsburg and Michael Salsburg; his mother and father-in-law, Edward and Mary Larson; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Friday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 2919 W. Lydius St. Schenectady. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
A trust fund has been set up for Ronald's granddaughter, Alexa Marie's education at Pioneer Savings Bank. Checks should be made payable to Catherine Salsburg and mailed to Pioneer Savings Bank, P.O.
