Ronald John Welsh, 60, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Stratton VA Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He is the devoted husband, for over 17 years, to Sandra Welsh.
Ronald proudly served with the United States Army and the National Guard with over 21 years of service.
He worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency, based out of New York City. He performed duties in Logistics to provide disaster relief all over the country.
He was a member of the Lansingburgh VFW. He always had a positive and playful demeanor. He often helped others in group therapy with his outgoing and caring personality.
Ronald enjoyed his cats, toy collecting, board games, sports memorabilia, camping, antiquing, gardening, music, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Helen Welsh, his brother William Welsh, and his sister Kathy Walker.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Sandra, his children Rondene (Ernest) Cannon III, Ronald John Welsh Jr., Jeffrey (Amy) Welsh and Jason Welsh. He is the proud grandfather of Ernest Cannon IV, Nautica Cannon, Ryan Cannon, Krystal Cannon, and Joshua Cannon, Audrey Welsh, Amelia Welsh and Owen Welsh. He is the great grandfather of, Genisus Cannon. He was also survived by his brothers and sisters; Chris (Mike) Baker, Midge Northrup, and Joseph (Diane) Welsh; several nieces and nephews and his feline babies, Nicholas, Cricket, and Ranger.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 5th, 2018 at New Comer Cremations & Funeral, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral service will be follow the calling hours at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be on Monday, April 9th, 2018, at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY at 10:30am, family to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 am.
