Colonie - Rosalie M. Ahl (DiBiase) 84, passed away peacefully at home on December 11, 2014,surrounded by her loving family.Born in Albany, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Rocco and Linda DiBiase. Rosalie was a 1947 graduate of the Vincentian Institute and Mildred Elley. She worked for the State of New York for many years, retiring from the Department of Social Services in 1995. Rosalie was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and Christ Our Light. She had a very strong faith and was active in her parish serving as a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and Funeral Planner. Rosalie was the salt of the earth and a kind and selfless soul who was always concerned for the happiness of others, especially her friends and family. She enjoyed vacationing with her family and traveling with Peter, her late, wonderful husband of 55 years,and
dancing with the Timeless Tappers from the Beltrone Living Center. Her family was her greatest pleasure.
Rosalie is the devoted mother of Peter (Pam) Ahl, Thomas (Janet) Ahl, Sharon (Joan Connolly)Ahl, Patricia (Robert Gibson) Ahl, and Linda (David) Bradfield. She is the cherished grandmother of Ashley (John) Mahoney, Peter (Joy) Ahl, Trey Bradfield, and great grandmother to Jack Mahoney, and Emma Ahl, and is survived by her brother Tom (Wanda) DiBiase of Waycross, GA.
The Ahl family would like to thank Dr. John Phelan (New York Oncology Hematology), Dr. William Notis (Albany Gastroenterology Consultants), Dr. Gregg Gerety (The Endocrine Group), RN Gayle Durivage (Eddy VNA) and Alice Ault (Home Care).
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Light Church, 1 Maria Drive, Loudonville, NY 12211 where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be on Monday from 5:00 p.m 7:00 p.m. at Christ Our Light Church. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to Food Pantries for the Capital District, 32 Essex St., Albany, NY 12206 or the
Sisters of St. Joseph, 357 Watervliet-Shaker Rd., Latham NY 12211 in memory of Rosalie M. Ahl.
