Albany - Rosario Peter "Sal" Mancuso, 92, formerly of Staten Island, died Wednesday April 18, 2007 at the Inn of Community Hospice. He was born in Manhattan and was the son of the late Peter and Josephine Gallina Mancuso.
Sal retired from the New York City Department Sanitation in 1973 and was an active teamster representative. He was a volunteer athletic director at the Riss House in New York City where he taught boxing for more than 20 years. Sal was a lifetime member of the Veteran Boxer's Association. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jean farina Mancuso.
Sal is the father of Patricia (Mike) Ravalli of Ballston Lake and Richard Mancuso of Evergreen, Colorado. He is the grandfather of Susan (Dan) McGuire, Michael (Karen) Ravalli, Christopher ( Stacey) Mancuso and David (Angela) Mancuso. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 4 to 7 pm at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
