COLONIE – Rose-Ann Koreman, 68, of Colonie, died peacefully after a brief illness, Tuesday, June 23, 2009, with her mother and children at her side. Rose was born in Waterbury, CT on June 20, 1941 and is the beloved daughter of Helen Fisk and the late George Fisk. She worked for over twenty years at N.Y.S. OASAS. Following her retirement, she volunteered at Evergreen Commons. Rose was the rock of her family and her sense of humor will be sorely missed. A dedicated BINGO enthusiast, animal lover and gardener, she always made time to spend with her beloved grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Rose is survived by her seven devoted children: William (Marcella), Anne (Carolyn), Michele, Gene (Wendy), Dawn, Sandy and Brenda (Jason). She is the cherished grandmother of Sherri, big Jessica, Noah, little Jessica, Lexi, Shea, Jacob, Jaqueline, Kaia, Riley and Alyssa. Rose is the loving niece of Annette, Marie and the late Lucille and Eddy. Also surviving are her closest friends, Marcia, Marion & Walt and Jim who will all miss her companionship. Rose was predeceased by her first husband, William Schubert.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mohawk Hudson River Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204 in memory of Rose A. Koreman.
