SCHENECTADY, NY – Rose (Carey) DeLoreto, 96, passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Ellis Hospital after a brief illness. Born in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lena Izzo. Rose was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her family. Mrs. DeLoreto was an avid bingo player. Rose was the wife of the late Arthur DeLoreto. She is the devoted mother of Roger (Susan) Carey of Schenectady, Rose (Patrick Gallo) Santor of Venice, FL, and the late John A. Carey and Shirley A. Williams. She is the loving sister of Theresa Suriano of Rotterdam and the late Eddie Izzo, Anthony Izzo and Helen Doherty. She is the cherished grandmother of Lisa (Ed) Fazzone, Anthony Santor, Debbie (Jon) Bryk, Linda Lewis, Gwen (Ken) Currie, Robert (Karen) Carey, Lynne (Michael) Tomazewski, Susan Rivette, Wendy (Rocco) Rescelo, Daniel (Elaine) Williams, Debbie Carey and Cathy Rich. Also surviving are 29 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 9:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Rotterdam at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Schenectady.
