COLONIE, NY – Rose F. Raymond, 94, of Colonie, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2008. Born in Maramenic, NY, she was the daughter of the late Karol and Katherine Lozinski Feret. At the age of 2, Rose's family moved to Albany. She attended St. Casimir's School and graduated from the Albany Public Schools. She was a 1932 graduate of Albany High School and attended the National Training School for Certified Nurses of Albany Institute and Arts. Rose worked as a private duty nurse and then worked for Albany Medical Center Hospital. She changed careers in 1934 and went to work for the New York Telephone Co. as a long distance operator. She married Edward B. Raymond on September 12, 1942. Mrs. Raymond worked for the telephone company through the war and resigned in 1956 to raise her family. Rose was past president and life member of the Polish Community Center where she also organized their bingo program. Mrs. Raymond enjoyed her family, flowers, vacation trips and raising French poodles. Rose was the beloved wife of the late Edward B. Raymond and mother of the late Mary Ann Veeder, Edward E. Raymond and Carol M. Raymond. She is the cherished grandmother of David, Mark, Christin and Jessica Veeder and Adam Angerami. She is the loving great-grandmother of Luke and Jack Veeder. She is the mother-in-law of H. Bruce Veeder of Voorheesville. She is the sister-in-law of Anna Raymond of Mechanicville. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 10:00 at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Relatives and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
