Albany- Rose Marie Reimer , 85, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, March 11, 2017.
Rose Marie was born in Brooklyn on March 14, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Mary and Roderick Schamberger. She grew up in Queens, and graduated from Grover Cleveland high school. After graduating, she moved to Wingdale, NY, where she worked for the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center and the Dover Union Free school district. In 1971, Rose Marie relocated to the Capital District, where she was employed by the organized crime task force and later by the fiscal office of the New York State Senate. Retiring in 1998, during her retirement, Rose Marie spent many hours volunteering at the Stratton Veterans Administration hospital.
Rose Marie is survived by her son: Russell (Natalie) Reimer; and her granddaughter: Nicole Reimer.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY, on Friday, March 17, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. A funeral service will be held following calling hours at 6:30 pm. The burial will take place privately by the family, at a later date, in Schoharie, NY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rose Marie's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at: 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204.
