Rose Marie Skerritt

November 16, 1942 — July 19, 2012

Albany-Rose Marie Skerritt, 69, of Forest Drive, Albany, NY passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospital. Rose Marie was born in NYC the daughter of Joseph and Marguerite Pennece Covino. She has resided in the Albany area most of her life. Rose Marie grew up in the Washington County area and graduated from Lady Cliff Academy in Poughkeepsie. She retired from being a clerk with the Dept. of Motor Vehicles, was very close with her family and loved her dogs. Rose Marie received an accreditation signed by the US Secretary of Army and Chief of State for maintaining the home front while her husband was on reserve duty.
Rose Marie is the beloved wife of George A. Skerritt, of Albany. Rose Marie and George would of celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary in September. She is also survived by her sister, Margie Richards, of W. Sacramento, CA; an aunt, Rose Adorno, of Kissimmee, FL; many nieces, nephews, cousins and her dogs, Otto and Fritz.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Church in Schenectady.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY.
