Rose K. Warman

November 14, 1949 — November 22, 2020

Rose Marie Keyishian Warman, 71, of Olmstedville, NY passed away Sunday November 22nd at Glens Falls Hospital following the onset of aggressive mucosal melanoma.

Rose is survived by her spouse Anne L. Brown (Olmstedville), her son Jonathan N. Warman and granddaughter Alina (Richardson, TX), and her brother Michael Keyishian. She is also survived by devoted cousins Diane Barnett (Bruce), her cousin Virginia Peters, David Keyishian, and her many other cousins near and far. The family of Dave and Sandy Dupuis were also like her extended family, including their sons, David, Robert, William, and Andre. She is also grateful to Jocelyn Kennedy Dupuis for her care and support. Her lifelong friends Elizabeth Dunn (Robert), Patricia Cassidy (Earl), Joann Kabat (Doug) and Marjorie Karowe have been near her heart for decades. She is predeceased by Robert Warman and her parents Archie and Christine Keyishian.

Rose was born in 1949 in Colonie, NY to Archie and Christine Keyishian. Rose spent her childhood in Colonie, NY, helping her family in Archie's bakery. Rose attended SUNY New Paltz, and then completed her B.S. in English from SUNY Albany. She also received a Master's degree in theater from SUNY Albany, which also included studies at the Magdelan College in Oxford England before the completion of her degree. Rose was a lifelong journal writer. She also added to her education as her career path continued. Rose married Robert Warman in 1973, and in 1980 she had their son, Jonathan, who was the light of her life. Robert predeceased Rose in 1998. Rose, being a person of complex character then met Anne L. Brown years later. The two formally wed in 2005, but shared over 20 years travelling and vacationing from Cape Cod to Scandinavia. They had recently retired to Olmstedville where they constructed a log cabin in the Adirondack Park.

Rose's love of writing and organization led her to a series of employment opportunities in the Capital Region. She enjoyed her work at the Child Guidance Center of Schenectady, forming many life-long friendships. She continued her education, adding the series 6 and 7 licenses to her credentials. She worked for several insurance companies as an employment benefits specialist, later becoming a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist through the Wharton School of Business. The culmination of her almost 40 years in the field led her to a position with General Electric as an employee benefits specialist prior to her retirement in the summer of 2020.

Rose was a person of multi-faceted interests. She kept many journals, and loved to write and do research. In recent years she added Toastmasters to her interests. However, the highlights of her life were her travels around the country and globe with Anne. The last adventure was a rugged trail ride on horseback through the canyon land of Utah. It suited Rose's Spartan spirit and love of horses like no other vacation.

As a researcher is where Rose's attention to detail prevailed. She was proud of her Armenian heritage and family. In her last year Rose was planning a visit to Chomaklou, Turkey, to see the churches and streets where her grandparents lived. She was also chronicling the forced march of her paternal grandmother across Turkey, during the Armenian Genocide. She had the dream of writing a book about the trek. Her love and admiration for her immediate and extended family never wavered. As an example, she traveled to France in 2004 to attend the wedding of her second cousin Cyril Valent. Her life was truly amazing.

Rose would like to be remembered as a resourceful force of nature, with a soft side for family, friends and nature.

Visitation will be at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 12:00 to 1:00 pm.
