COLONIE-Rose Polito, 89, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, surrounded by the love of her family.
Rose was born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy, on October 18, 1928, to the late Joseph and Marian Commisso. In 1949 Rose married the love of her life, the late Vincent Polito. They were married for 55 years. Together they raised three children. Rose had a secretarial career while she raised her family, and she retired from Monarch Life Insurance Co. She will be remembered for her love of cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening. Her passion in life was her family.
Rose is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent, and her nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her beloved children, Marie (Donald) Martin, Joanne (George) Barry, and Joseph (Lisa Beal) Polito; her grandchildren, Kara (Ted) Toothaker, Kristofer, Dominick, Lucca, Joseph (Megan), and Marcus; her great-grandchildren, Alaina, and Vincent; and many of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Monday, March 12, 2018, from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie, NY.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rose's name to the Alzheimer's Association, 4 Pine West Plaza #405, Albany, NY 12205
