ALBANY – Roseann T. Jeffers, 43, passed away suddenly on Friday, March 23, 2007. Born in Albany, she was the beloved daughter of the late William P, and Catherine E. Hourigan. Rose resided in Albany for all of her life. She worked for New York State for 26 years, currently with the NYS Dept. of Taxation and Finance. Rose was a communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church and a past board member of St. Teresa of Avila School. She volunteered countless hours for both the church and school. She was active and volunteered for all of her children's sports activities. Rose was a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 1 where she was named Hibernian of the Year in 2004. She enjoyed reading and camping. Rose is the beloved wife of 19 years to Brian F. Jeffers, Jr. She is the loving and devoted mother of Brian, Christopher and Erin Jeffers. She is the loving sister of Michael (Linda) Hourigan of West Sand Lake, Mary Alice Kennedy of Albany, Patrick (Patty) Hourigan of Colonie, Maureen (Jack) Adriance of Colonie, Thomas Hourigan of Schenectady and the late Kathleen and Billy Hourigan. She is the loving niece of John (Pat) Carmody and Donald (Marilyn) Carmody. Rose is the loving daughter-in-law of Maureen Jeffers and the late Brian Jeffers. She is the loving sister-in-law of Maureen Jeffers, Daniel (Peggy) Jeffers, James Jeffers, Kathleen (Jim) Futia, Michael (Kim) Jeffers and John (Kim) Jeffers as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also surviving is her cherished friend, Kim Clancy and countless other close friends and colleagues.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday morning at 10:00 at St. Teresa of Avila Church, New Scotland Ave., Albany. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Teresa of Avila School, 8 Hollywood Ave., Albany, NY 12208 or for the Jeffers Children's Education Fund through any SEFCU branch.
