Roseanna Yackel

Roseanna "Dolly" Yackel, nee Herrmann, passed peacefully into the Lord's arms with her son by her side on February 25, 2024 at Albany Medical Center.

Born May 24, 1937, in New York, NY, she was the daughter of Robert Hermann and Florence Coyle Hermann Kasprzak.

She was educated in NYC public schools and was a longstanding member of the Hudson Guild. After moving to Albany, NY she worked for a brief time at Montgomery Ward in the catalog department before marrying and having children and becoming a lifelong homemaker. Dolly was forever active in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren's lives and cherished every moment. She also enjoyed her vacations to Connecticut and Atlantic City and going to casinos, as well as finding that perfect romantic comedy movie to watch.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Robert Hermann, Roberta Solo and Patricia Smith, as well as her canine companion of 15 years, Smokey.

Roseanna is survived by husband of 61 years Robert W. Yackel; Daughter, Sherry F. Toedt (Mark) of Albany; Son, Anthony R. Yackel (Joanna) of Latham; 3 Grandchildren, Marcus Toedt of Albany, Isabella Yackel and Benjamin Yackel of Latham; 1 Great-Grandchild, Alexander Toedt of Troy; Brothers, Joseph Kasprzak (Sherry) of Katy, TX and Benjamin Kasprzak (Penny) of Staten Island and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 11am-1pm, with a Memorial Service to immediately follow, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Interment to follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
