Rosemarie E. Shallcross

Niskayuna- RoseMarie E. Shallcross, 72, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer, at home on Monday, June 19, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Manhattan she was the daughter of the late Frank and RoseMarie Callan. RoseMarie had worked for a number of years for Capital District Dermatology Associates retiring in March of 2000. RoseMarie was a communicant of St. Helen's Church in Schenectady. A patron of life, she enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening. RoseMarie was the family Matriarch. Her focus and life evolved around her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers, holidays, and especially her grandchildren who referred to her as GaGa. RoseMarie taught her children and grandchildren the value of unconditional love. She is predeceased by her two brothers, Lawrence Callan and Col. Eugene Early, and her sister Marie Kaufmann.
RoseMarie is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years William S. Shallcross of Niskayuna, and her two daughters, Barbara Lee Slater and her husband James Robert of Niskayuna and RoseMarie Torossian and her husband Alexander of Latham. She is also survived by her four grandchildren Brian James Slater, Erin Lee Slater, Devin William Torossian and Morgan Elizabeth Torossian and many much loved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at St. Helen's Church, Schenectady where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Schenectady, 1411 Union Street, Schenectady, NY 12308 in memory of RoseMarie E. Shallcross.
