Nowik, Rosemary
Albany – Rosemary Nowik, 83, passed away peacefully Wednesday January 26, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn surrounded by her loving family.
Rosemary was born In Albany, daughter of the late Camilla and Vincent Napoli and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from St. Peter's School of Nursing and worked at St. Peter's as a Registered Nurse. Rosemary loved to cook and bake. She was an avid N Y Yankee fan and enjoyed trips to the Ocean, especially the Jersey Shore and Cape Cod. Above all, Rosemary's greatest passion was her family, with whom she loved to spend time. In 2000, she was predeceased by Walter, her devoted husband of more than 50 years.
She is survived by her children: Edward (Lynda) Nowik, Nancy Bogaard, Karen Nowik, Sharon Thomas and Gary (Carrie) Nowik, grandchildren: Andrea, Marisa, Stephanie, Kristin, Erica, Kelsey and Cecelia, two great-granddaughters Alexis and Sabrina and sister Elaine McCann. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sister Nancy Calordino.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Hospital and St. Peter's Hospice Inn for their loving care of Rosemary.
Rosemary dealt with Rheumatoid Arthritis for over 50 years with grace, dignity and courage. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation, 200 Oceangate, Suite 830, Long Beach, CA 90802.
Funeral services will be held Monday 8:30 am from New Comer Cannon Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie then to All Saints Catholic Church, Albany where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Calling hours will be Sunday 3:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Help Christians Cemetery, Glenmont.
