Roxanne Opal-Caccia

Loudonville – Roxanne E. Opal-Caccia, 51, died Monday October 8, 2007 at her home in Loudonville after a long illness. Born in Niskayuna, at Bellevue Maternity Hospital on June 14, 1956 (Flag Day) , she was the daughter of Muriel L. and the late William D. Opal.

Roxanne was a lifelong area resident. She grew up in Colonie, graduating from Colonie Central High School in 1974. Roxanne worked at the original Shaker Ridge County Club for sixteen years where she enjoyed catering all the special events they hosted. She had a love for all animals, most especially her cats that seemed to know where to go to get spoiled.

She is survived by her husband Frank Caccia, her children; J.R. McGinn Jr. and Lydia McGuinn, her mother Muriel Opal, her siblings; Jefferey (Janice) Opal, Gregory (Nancy) Opal and Claudia (Bill) Fitzgerald, her nephew Will Fitzgerald and her stepchildren; Frank J. Caccia, Kendra M. Caccia and Aura J. Caccia.

Her family would like to thank all the professional staff of St. Peter's Hospital, especially the Dialysis Unit and The Albany Dialysis Center for the wonderful care they gave for so many years. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Jose David whose caring way will be remembered always.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 8:45 am from the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home then to Our Lady of Mercy Church, Wilson Ave., Colonie where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am. Calling hours will be today at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Interment will be at Albany Rural cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Albany Dialysis Center, 64 Albany Shaker Rd., Albany, 12204 in memory of Roxanne.
