Detroit, Michigan – Ruby Dell Edwards, 63, passed away peacefully Monday November 22, 2010 at Sinai Grace Hospital.
Ruby was born in Greeleyville, SC a daughter of the late Willie and Janie Franklin. She moved to the Troy area as a young woman. Ruby worked as an Occupational Therapist at Van Renssalaer Manor Nursing Home and enjoyed bowling, bingo, gardening, knitting and crocheting.
Ruby is survived by her sons: Eric Franklin, William Franklin and Rodney Middleton, sisters: Alice Franklin, Loriann (Darryl) Cannon, Jennifer Franklin, brothers: Luther (Doreen) Moore, Phil Franklin and Tommy Franklin, grandkids: Erica, Victoria, Mackenzie, Eli, Brianna, Tyler, Rayquan and Marquis, aunts Barbara Johnson, Sarah Matthews and Mary Ellen Wilson, uncle David Boyd and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Richard Edwards and sisters Elizabeth and Betty Franklin.
The funeral service will be Tuesday 11:00am at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Troy, NY. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00am at the church. Interment will be in Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, NY. To leave a special message for the family online, visit www.NewcomerAlbany.com
